ABOUT
Est. in disbelief. Marbella, Spain. Marbella Wire is a small independent publication about the Costa del Sol. We do three things.
One real property listing a day, chosen for being absurd: the price, the taste, or the listing copy, ideally all three. The photos are the agencies' own, untouched. The asking price is verbatim. The eyebrow is ours.
Short daily news briefs from the coast, in plain English, in our voice, with the facts taken from (and always linked to) their original source. We summarise and raise an eyebrow; we don't pretend to have done the reporting.
Prices nobody else writes down: what a sunbed actually costs at every beach club (we go, regrettably), what an espeto costs at each end of the sand, what listings ask now versus last year. Data played completely straight.
Editorial standards: short, because we follow them
The full standards page →- Prices are sacred.
Every price we print is real, verbatim and dated. Listing prices come from the listing. Sunbed prices come from going. If we can't verify a number, we don't print it.
- We punch at prices and taste, never at people.
No owners named, no agents named in captions, no photographs of people. The joke is the €22 million, never the person asking it.
- Sources are always linked.
Wire briefs summarise reporting done by others; the original is linked on every dispatch, prominently. Listing pages link the live listing.
- Takedowns are honoured fast and without drama.
If your listing features here and you'd rather it didn't, one message removes it. The page will say the lot was withdrawn. That's the whole process.
- Corrections are dated, not deleted.
Get something wrong, we fix it visibly and date the fix: deadpan doesn't mean unaccountable.
One editor, Vernon Marsh, twenty-two years in property brochures, now reformed. No anonymous bylines. No sponsored posts. No affiliate links. Nobody pays to appear and nobody can pay to leave.
If your listing features here and you'd rather it didn't, one message removes it. No argument, no drama, no explanation required: the coast produces more listings daily.
