Taxis and buses in Marbella
What a taxi may legally charge you, what the town bus costs, and what a coach to the airport costs instead. Three tables, all of them the operator's or the council's own published figures, none of them an estimate. If you are being quoted something else, this page is what to check it against.

What a taxi may charge
Marbella's taxi fares are not set by the driver or by the company. They are authorised by the Junta de Andalucia and published by the Ayuntamiento, and the meter runs on one of three tariffs depending on the hour and the day. A weekday daytime trip starts at €3.61 on the meter plus €1.07 a kilometre, with a minimum of €5.19; at night, at weekends and on public holidays that becomes €4.42 plus €1.34. The single most useful thing on this page: there is no authorised flat fare to Malaga airport. The table has three tariffs and two supplements, and an airport rate is not among them, so a fixed price quoted for that trip is a private arrangement rather than the tariff. The town bus
The town network runs 13 lines under Avanza, and the fare depends entirely on whether you have the card. A single bought on board is €1.18; the same journey on a Tarjebus card is €0.83, and a thirty-day pass is €36.67, both of them cheaper again with the discount that has been running since 2025. Residents on the padron can hold a free municipal mobility card. The lines worth knowing are the ones nobody tells you about: 12 and 13 run to the Costa del Sol hospital, 8 and 9 are the night services, and 1 is the one that gets you to Puerto Banus.

Leaving town
There is no train, which why there is no train explains at length, so the coach station at why there is no train is how you leave Marbella without a car. The airport is €6.48 and about 40 minutes; Malaga city is €7.81; San Pedro is €1.52, which is less than the bus card costs in most towns. The operator prints departure and arrival times, never a duration, so every journey time above is arithmetic on a printed timetable row rather than a figure the operator states. Fares are the ordinary single; the discounted card fares are lower.

Where is Marbella bus station?
On {station2}, north of the centre. It is where every coach out of town leaves from, it sells the bus cards, and it has a left-luggage service whose price is not published anywhere official.
Is there a bus from Marbella to Puerto Banus?
Yes, on the town network at the town fare: line 1 runs there, and lines 4 and 5 continue to San Pedro. There is no separate intercity fare for Puerto Banus because it is inside the municipality.
