Padrón, NIE and paperwork in Marbella
The three procedures everyone in Marbella eventually needs, each answered from the office that actually runs it: registering on the padrón, getting an NIE or a TIE, and a social security number. An appointment, in every case, is not optional.

Registering on the padrón
Five offices handle it, one specifically for foreign residents. An identity document is always needed, plus a rental contract and a recent utility bill for tenants, or the deeds and a recent council-tax bill for owners. An appointment is compulsory everywhere; walking in without one gets nothing done. Being on the padron is also what gets you the resident price at the public pools.

NIE and TIE
There is one Oficina de Extranjería for the whole province, in Málaga city, plus a Marbella desk run by the national police for the assignment and fingerprinting steps. The council's address for that desk and an older interior-ministry announcement do not agree; the one printed here is the council's current page. No fee figure is published anywhere official for the 790 tax, which is the one number this page cannot give you. A lost or stolen passport in the meantime is a job for police and lost property.

Social security number
One office serves the whole municipality, including San Pedro de Alcántara, which has none of its own. A number can be requested entirely online, including without a digital certificate, by uploading photographs of an identity document and a selfie holding it.

Questions
How do I register on the padrón in Marbella?
Book an appointment at one of five offices, bring an identity document plus a rental contract and a recent utility bill as a tenant, or the deeds and a council-tax bill as an owner, and file it in person or, with a digital certificate, through the council's electronic office.
How much does an NIE cost in Marbella?
No official page publishes the figure. The amount of the 790 tax appears only inside the online payment form once you select the procedure, so this page cannot give you a number in advance.
Where do I get a social security number in Marbella?
The office is on Avenida Reina Victoria; San Pedro de Alcántara has none of its own and is served by the same one. It can also be requested end to end online, with a photograph of your identity document and a selfie, no digital certificate required.
Every office, phone number and document list here is read from the Ayuntamiento's own padrón page and the state's official appointment systems. No fee amount for the 790 tax is published on any official page; it appears only inside the payment form once a concept is selected, and this page does not guess at it.
